Juli — are you up for Inveraray Games Tuesday 14th July 2014 ??
only trouble is there will may be a woolly event the following week.
or do we do something different after the Commonwealth Games are over for Homecoming ?
Sounds Exciting to me! Of course that just panics me we'll have order by then! : )
don't panic … it is amazing how thrown together things can be and be interesting to the general public !
this is what we did up here in Ardchattan this weekend.. none of the rest of them had ever done an event and I was WELL out of the game with my fibro after Woolfeis.

Clan homecomings 2014 - list http://www.lynotttours.com/b-clan.htm

  • 20th - 22nd June : Clan MacLachlan - Cairndow http://2014maclachlangathering.com/chiefs-welcome/ The all-volunteer festival planning committee is developing a programme that will involve artisans and craft stalls, purveyors of local food and drink, music and dancing and demonstrations of traditional Highland sports (shinty) and farming methods (sheep dog trials). I have enquired about taking a stall. : - have space booked plus wee informal "talk/gathering" of local heritage interests - see email 9 July 2013

update 11 - Aug - 13 : Contact email from the Lachlan Trust about a project they have : More about the trust can be found at www.oldcastlelachlan.com.
We recently won a grant from HLF part of which involves an events and promotions programme. One thing we want to do is develop a website and some leaflets that will promote a heritage driving tour round the upper reaches of Loch Fyne starting at Auchindrain on the west round to Old Castle Lachlan (or vice versa) and taking in the notable heritage sites along the way.

Clan Sinclair — sometime around the Bannockburn celebrations : http://www.clansinclair.ca/news/calendar.htm#cs2014

Multiple Sclerosis Centre Argyll have invited the Old Folks to the centre for a get together.
One of our members has put together albums of old Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig photos and donated to the Centre for folks to enjoy. I am sure the social history knowledge you have along with the photos and memories from others could make for an interesting get together sometime.
