• Cause: Likely from complications following the birth of her last child as her gravestone gave her death as the same day as the child was baptised
• Burial: Kilmalieu Cemetery, Inveraray
• Gravestone: The family gravestone was photographed and the inscription recorded by Christian's great great grand-daughter who says that Christian's son Archibald had it raised which would seem likely as some of his children are commemorated on the stone. The stone was still there in 2013 but sadly had toppled over. The inscription read: In memory of Christina McCallum, spouse of Edward McCallum, tenant Auchindrain, who died 16th March 1842, aged 33 years. Also of Mary, daughter of A. McCallum, who died aged 10 months and Neil Archibald his son who died in infancy. The above Edward McCallum, tenant Auchindrain died 12th November 1890 aged 87 years. Also Isabella McLarty his spouse died 12th June 1886 aged 77 years. Mary Ann McCallum grand-daughter of the above Edward McCallum who died at Auchindrain 12 August 1904. Also Edward McCallum who died at Auchindrain 27th February 1930 aged 83 years. Also Mary McCallum who died 20th January aged 56 years.
